The Bloomington Food Buying Club (Blooming Veggies
Buying Club) is an informal voluntary association of people who order vegetarian
food and other items from wholesale food distributors. The club is cooperatively

Feed our Future Program: Meals are provided to
programs for at-risk children and youth, including Boys & Girls Club, The
Rise, Girls Inc., Rhino's and Monroe Community Correction JAMS Program.
Backpack
Buddies Program: Provides backpacks filled with food items to elementary school
children on Friday afternoons to take home. This food is intended to help their
families with food needs over the weekend when children must get all of their
nutritional needs met at home.
Summer Breakfast Program: Provides an
extra source of nutrition to low-income children who are without school breakfast
and lunch programs during the summer months. Breakfasts are delivered to children
in two youth serving programs and six low-income neighborhoods.

Links: A partnership with Positive Link and Meals on Wheels through which
Community Kitchen provides nutritious meals which are delivered to HIV positive
patients' homes.
Health & Wellness Arts Program: A Wednesday arts
program for Community Kitchen patrons sponsored by the Bloomington Area Arts Council
and the John Waldron Arts Center. This program gives patrons the opportunity to
express themselves through various arts and crafts projects. The program is free
of charge.
Holiday Meals: Holiday meals are delivered to the homebound
on Thanksgiving and Christmas in collaboration with Area 10 Agency on Aging.

and operated by Middle Way House, an abused women's shelter in Bloomington, Indiana.

Sale and Swap is an annual event the first Saturday in March. Growing only varieties
know to be grown in this area before 1850, nonhybrid, open polinated, organically
grown. Also offering 32 varieties of seeds from Seed Savers Exchange and a Seed
Swap Table for local savers to share home grown seed.
