Aunt Enna's Oatmeal Cookies
¾ cup vegetable oil
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 ¼ cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sifted flour
1 teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
3 cups quick oats
1 cup raisins & 1 cup black walnut
Combine dry ingredients, combine wet ingredients then mix
well, let sit 5 minutes before dropping by the teaspoonful
onto an oiled cookie sheet about 2 " apart.
This recipe was given to a local food member
by a friend over twenty years ago. It was considered a family
treasure and is also here on Local Food in a slightly healthier
version.
